AML is an heterogeneous group of diseases all of which have a genetic and molecular basis. As such the treatment must be tailored to the patient and disease specific characteristics. The most important prognostic factors are AGE, CYTOGENETICS and by inference MOLECULAR PATHOLOGY. These cases serve to illustrate approaches taken with prognostic factors in mind.
