A case of ALL in a young boy

This case will give you the flavour of ALL as it was in the early 1960s. T.H. was our last patient to present before the era of combined drug therapy, CNS prophylaxis and Risk Adapted Therapy (RAT). He entered a complete remission (CR) with prednisone, and while in CR the results of mutiple drug protocols such as "VAMP", were reported. He was treated with VAMP, and went on to suffer the typical fate of "long term survivors" not given CNS prophylaxis. Lest we forget !!!
